A surprising though VERY welcome announcement from Dragon Models.
DRA6379 - U.S. Marines Guadalcanal 1942

Will be a four-figure, 1/35th set. Catering for an area which has rarely been done before - Early War USMC figures.

Not much more to add, suffice to say, with the vehicles which are now beginning to appear (and existing ones) from this period of the Pacific Theater, this is going to be an incredibly useful release...

There nicely done, I would have liked a earlier Version BAR though. A M1918 would have given it more early war period flavor than the A2

Great action. Can't wait to see them in plastic. Lookes like they have been shot at by a sniper., really caught the drama. Awsome

It's nice to see early war Marines figures, these guys could be used as 2nd Battalion Raiders for a Makin Island diorama. The guys with the Springfields and BAR are great but the fourth guy appears to be packing a Reising SMG: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M50_Reising_submachine_gun IIRC, this could be the 1st time for the Reising to be produced in plastic as I don't recall there being one in the old Dragon Allied weapons set. I was thinking of Makin Atoll too when I saw this set.

In fact it might be an original idea for Dragon to make some very early American sets, when they wore the WW1 style helmets.

Looks like an excellent set, The last Gen 2 set of Marines was awesome and I can't wait to add this set.

Great set. I can see these Marines in a jungle setting next to an early Sherman or Stuart. Thanks for the update
