In a very interesting change of direction (and time-frame), Masterbox Ltd. have sent us some images of a what may (or may not) be the beginning of a new range of figures.
WWI has, been generally ignored by almost everyone - no less so than from the injection.moulded manufacturers. This may be due to lack of popularity or simply an unwillingness of the manufacturers to invest in what could be a loss-leader.

In the continuing series of updates on WIP from Masterbox Ltd., the company has sent us images of a interesting idea which MAY be developed in the future - Don Cossacks and Austrian Infantry in WWI.

The company are not (understandably) convinced that this would be a commercially viable direction to take, but have shared the images with the Network nevertheless...

Thanks to Alexander for the Images!

Very impressive! World War One is very under served. I would definitely buy the kit if it's released.

Hi, this project looks very promising. There is not enough WW1 figures in the market. The animation and poses look wonderful. I would buy these for sure!! Pekka N.

I think that the horse is excellent! As a Spanish Civil War modeller this set brings to me a lot of conversion potential. Please keep on with this line!

This set captures very well movement and speed: both figures are in movement. I think MB are quite good at that. The WW1 subject is original and having made several cossack figures in Soviet and German service, I would consider buying it. One thing intrigues me: what is the little piece of plastic in the middle of the base?Is it a piece of discarded gear dropped by the Austrian officer?

Jim - these figures look great ! There are many good resin kits of WW 1Russian armoured cars out there ( ARMO & MAJOR MODELS for instance ) for the life of me I just don`t know why Russian manufacturers haven`t bothered making WW 1 / Russian Civil War crews for these kits - after all Osprey has published artwork and photos of the vehicles crews over a long period of time ! Excellent idea : new areas of history, in dynamic pose, interesting uniforms, and at an affordable price (compare to the metal ones). Keep on this way, I'm becoming addicted by this brand and their original concept. Best, Julien

I generally buy all the new Masterbox (and Miniart) sets so this will make it to my stash. The idea of a Vignette in a box is terrific and has been around in resin for a long time, no reason why it shouldn't work in plastic.
