Interesting set - and as usual from Masterbox - with great diorama potential. Thanks for the update

when I looked at the MB website it said that one set shows British paras speaking to a civilian during the Arnhem operation. However on the box art you see in the background a red British style telephone box of the traditional type found in the UK and all over the Commonwealth. the civilian looks more like a Britsh hunter or game warden on an estate. The set probably represents paras at an execise in the UK, asking for directions.

Some really exciting poses and posibilities with these figures, but there is something about the Dennison smocks that doesn't 'look' right (apart from the camouflage... ) They look to small, not baggy and crinkled enough. Cheers Henk

Have to agree on the civilian figure. I find it hard to believe a guy from the Netherlands would be waltzing around during the German occupation with a shot gun. Shaun

Hi Guys, A couple of interesting sets. I like the wounded soldier and medics, although he would have had ammo pouches on his webbing and probably some of the remainder of his kit. A rolled up stretecher would have been a good bit of kit to have with them. The inclusion of the wounded Glider Pilot is a neat addition. Not too keen on the stance of the Bren gunner and the shovel would look better shoved through his belt behind ther LH ammo pouch or carried in one hand, say across the shoulder, he looks a bit lost as he is. Both the rifleman and the Sten gun chappie should have the short stabbing bayonet and the 7 ammo pouches for the sten were worn on a thick webb strap. The riflleman has too many additional ammo holders in his Bandolier, they had 5 cloth pouches with 10rds per pouch, ie 50rds per set. The rope looks out of place where it is and would be better under the flap of the pack or over his shoulder and coming arounfd the chest. The basic para would also have had the small entrenching tool attatched to the rear of his webbing and th N o 4 rifle looks a bit too chunky as does the bren The helmets look like they are representing the MK III airborne helmet issued in Feb 44. All the helmets would have been covered with netting and scrim of some sort, and not worn bare like this. On the point about the Dennison smocks, they came below the crotch and often to about mid thigh depending on the height of the individual, so there is room for variation there but I agree they would look better a bit longer and looser. Glad to see MB doing some Brits although I would have preferred some basic infantry, particularly the medics as they woudl ahve been more flexible in BD. They have good potential though even as they stand. I'll look forward to further additions on the Commonwealth side and hats off to them for for the range of figs they have offered. Al

the civilian looks like an English country squire who has just made shot a hare on his estate. A good point: Were civilians allowed to hold hunting rifles and shotguns in occupied Europe?

Hi Very nice choice of subjects especially like the wounded figure's. Love the civilian with the shotgun & rabbits. he's more likly to be selling to the Yanks back in England ( black market ) Some very nice items being released lately.

- unlikely, rabbit was exempt from rationing so was pretty widely available. Just one of these pointless trivia comments...
