Dragon Models Ltd. have just sent us images of the box-art of a VERY unusual figure set...
Following on from their welcome announcement of a Soviet Infantry set, this new set will have an enormous amount of applications - particularly as if the mixture of uniforms is reflected in the new set:

DRA6457 - Soviet Black Sea Commando (Crimea 1944)

No further details have been announced - although a nice taster though of what could be VERY useful indeed.

Damn, Jim, when you said "big" surprise, I thought DML was putting out some 1/16! Oh well, it's still great to see a sniper fig. Hey Dilip, welcome to the site. Nice to see another Sri Lankan around. I'd got used to feeling like the Last of the Mohicans! What do you build?

Trust me, if it was a 1/16th scale figure, I would have done a dance of absolute delirium...

Yeah, me too. Is that hope dead in the water then? Even Tamiya haven't put out anything since that Japanese pilot and the MG42 loader.
JUN 15, 2008 - 09:18 PM
Unfortunately, it would be safer to assume that it is. You're correct in saying that neither DML not Tamiya are showing any signs of 'expansion'. The only hope is if Trumpeter decide to invest further into THEIR range and go beyond tankcrew. Personally, i'm not sure they will...

I saw your Sri lankan special forces soldier resting on an MD jam bottle lid, so time back. i had not joined at the time. I make figures now as AFV take a lot of space. I used to make tamiya figures a long time ago but used to be quite bad at making them . i have mastered some painting techniques but i do not think I am yet able to exhibit my stuff- though I feel each set is better than the previous one. Are you sri lankan or an expat living here? waht do you make?

Dilip, have a look at my gallery. I mostly build large scale figures, but do the occasional vehicle or helicopter. I am Sri Lankan, yup. Are you in Colombo?
JUN 19, 2008 - 02:41 AM
