Ace Model is soon to release its kit of this post-WWII French light tank.
The AMX-13 was a French light tank produced from1953 to 1985. It served with the French Army, as the Char 13t-75 Modèle 51, and was exported to more than 25 other nations. The designation ‘13’ refers to the weight in tonnes and the tank was fitted with an oscillating turret built by GIAT Industries with revolver type magazines. Including prototypes and export versions, there are over a hundred variants including self-propelled guns, anti-aircraft systems, APCs, and ATGM versions. Total production of the AMX-13 family was some 7,700 vehicles, around 3,400 of which were exported.

AMX-13/75 Light Tank (72445). To be offered as an injection-molded kit, it will come with one-piece tracks, as well as a decal sheet.

Nice to see another kit of the AMX13. Unfortunately the CAD drawings show that ACE got confused by the many variants. Olivier

I'm not an expert on the AMX, so it is not a surprise, but to me it looks OK. What errors do you see?

There are a mix of early and late features. For instance on the late chassis with 4 return rollers you should not see the bolted roadwheels. Another example is the missing protection for the driver head. Another one is the missing infantry phone on the early variant. I guess you need some reference book to get an accurate vehicle. Without pictures of the sprues it's hard to tell if you can build a correct vehicle from the box. Olivier

Thank you for the response. I guess some research is to be done before building...

The kit has been released. Here's the box art:

...and the roadwheels:

The roadwheeks are the early bolted type. So the ribbed idlers are useless. I guess ACE will release more verions later. From the boxart I fear ACE mixed early and late features for a IDF tank. There should be only one headlight per side, the front mudguard should not be present. That's what you see on most Israeli AMX 13 but with Tsahal you hlways have to check your period pictures.
