After the M48, Dragon is now offering a scintillating kit the M60 AVLB (Armored Vehicle Launched Bridge)
Hydraulic cylinders raise the 14.65-ton scissors bridge from the hull, lower it to the ground and then unfurl it, a process that takes just 3-10 minutes. The M60 AVLB was used by the USA in the Vietnam War, as well as throughout the Cold War, before being withdrawn from US Army service in 2003. Other nations such as Israel, Pakistan and Singapore have also used it.

The New M60 AVLB this kit is impressive in terms of its bulk, as well as the level of intricate detail inherent in such a vehicle and the MLC 60 bridge. This terrific kit makes use of an M60A2 chassis and suspension, although the box provides the alternative option of an M60 hull as well. Brand new upper hulls are supplied respectively. To make it even more attractive to modelers, the bridge can be depicted in stowed mode, fully launched or in any intermediate configuration.

And when will this be out? or will dragon drag this out like they did with the M48 AVLB
They have most of the parts already so hopefully it will not drag on too long / Robin

Oh Gino, you saw this coming the minute you started you project.... It's the natural order of things in the model-sphere.

Great to see something unique being offered; I really don't need any more so-called "two-for-one" kits, paper panzers and absurd variants. Give me interesting, realistic kits or leave me alone.

Hopefully this might spur Takom on and they give us a proper AVLB based on their Chieftain.

Hey Gino, Does the same luck apply to the new resin conversion to make the early M48 AVLB as used by the BW? Or do I have to start a conversion to prompt that in plastic?
JUN 17, 2019 - 06:39 AM
No, you have to do the conversion. Resin sets don't satisfy the modeling Gods who then dictate which kits come in plastic.
Since I’ve already committed to and collecting the kits needed to do the M60 AVLB per your conversion I’ll just go ahead and ignore the Dragon release Like you pointed out you can also get an M48A5 too.

It is expected for August

New pics and CAD showing the "2-in-1" feature. It will include parts for both an M60A1 hull and an M60A2 hull to build either an early or late M60 AVLB. It should be out soon as it is listed for pre-order at various suppliers.
