Following last year's Dragon M752 Lance surface-to-surface missile launcher system on a tracked chassis, now they release a short/medium-range MGM-52 Lance missile mounted on a single-axle trailer.
The MGM-52 Lance missile was deployed in 1972, replacing the bulkier and less mobile Honest John and Sergeant missile systems. With the end of the Cold War, the MGM-52 was withdrawn from service in 1992. The Lance system was used by the US Army, Belgium, Germany, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands and UK, meaning that this new kit offers enterprising modelers a lot of versatility.

The specialized two-wheel trailer is all new, and it features all relevant details such as storage boxes and four outrigger legs for stability when firing. For the benefit of modelers seeking to pose their model dramatically, the missile can be elevated up or down to represent a firing scenario. The missile mount and associated elevation mechanism are sophisticated.

Notably, these are the only two 1/35 scale plastic kits of this US-manufactured missile launcher currently available on the market, allowing modelers to choose which Lance they want to get acquainted with.

Cool! I presume that none of the faults on the launcher parts for the tracked version have been corrected. There is aftermarket for those faults ... I wonder if they managed to get the trailer chassis right though... / Robin

I'm happy to see all of these missiles. I would be willing to shell out the cash for a Sergeant, on its mobile launcher.

Knowing Dragon they will screw this one up too like they did with the wheels and missiles on their wheeled hawk missile launcher

Gotta admit that would look cool slingloaded under a Trumpeter Chinook

Hopefully it will be a nice kit. This statement is not really correct. It wasn't the end of the Cold War that was the reason it was retired. The Lance Missile was replaced by the superior MLRS system and guided aircraft munitions; a.k.a. "Smart Bombs". Both of these were used very successfully in Operation Desert Storm in '91. Yup. Or loaded internally.

It could also be carried inside-- but then it would be hard to see! I just hope they follow thier own line drawings-- which seem correct. But if they use the fantasy wheels from the Hawk kit, that would be bad. I haven't bought any new Dragon kits lately due to their accuracy issues, but if this one looks as good as the drawings, I might make an exception. VR, Russ

The kit launcher truss assy is pretty good. Will have to wait and see how they do with the mobility kit. We already know the missile control surfaces will be all jacked up and the control/equipment storage boxes will be missing (thankfully Perfect Scale Modelbau has already addressed that stuff for us.
