Previously featured here as work-in-progress, Red Iron Models has now made available its ZiL-130 truck kit. Here we see the contents of its latest offering.
The ZiL-130 was a Soviet/Russian truck produced by ZiL ( Zavod imeni Likhachovan) in Moscow, Russia. The first prototype was built in 1956 and it started to be mass-produced by 1964. The ZiL-130 was one of the most numerous cargo trucks in the USSR and Russia, with more than three million units built until 1994.

Red Iron Models’ Soviet Truck ZiL-130 (RIM35029) is a complete resin kit rendered in 1/35 scale. The kit also includes photo-etched parts and a decal sheet.

Background information on the vehicle sourced from Wikipedia.

Seeing the parts I become a bit wary... coming from my experiences with older MMK-kits... might hopefully be proven wrong, but I would have to get one into my hands... Wonder what they charge for it.

Just from the photos, and I wish I could change what my 'mind's eye' sees, but there is just so many other good injection molded Russian/Soviet trucks out there that it would be hard to justify this purchase. If I happen to break down and purchase this vehicle, I know I would cannibalize those injected molded kits to build this one up.

The price tag says 70 Euro ....
