New from Customscale is its kit depicting the Enzian, a German anti-aircraft missile developed during the Second World War.
Developed by Messerschmitt AG in 1944, the Enzian was a ground-to-air missile, having aerodynamic design features similar to that of the Messerschmitt Me 163 Komet. Design specifications called for the use of much wood as possible in order to conserve on strategic materials. Sixty examples were built, with thirty-eight being tested. Today two examples are known to exist. One is said to be on display at the RAF Museum in Cosford, while the other on storage at the Australian War Memorial.

Customscale depicts the earlier experimental model, the Enzian E-1. Kit 35073 is a full resin kit rendered in 1/35 scale.

Lastly, another recent release was the Feuerlilie F-55 A-2 (35072). This follows the previously announced A-1 variant. The A-2 used an optimized rocket engine. Visually it differed by having segmented control flaps. In addition, holes were located around the lower rocket section and the rocket tip was slightly more conical.

Named after an alpine flower .... romantic isn't it LINK " plagued by organisational problems and was cancelled before becoming operational." Sounds like a common issue for German weapons projects in the later stages of the war .... / Robin
