The new Mud & Puddles set from Vallejo has two products to recreate mud on dioramas or vehicles, plus two more for water.
This is an interesting set that includes the necessary products to create muddy terrains and puddles, so as wet mud on either civil or military vehicles.

The European Mud and Black mud allow to easily produce realistic wet mud, without the need of adding pigments nor plaster as it it comes ready to use. It even includes vegetation.

To complete the wet landscape, there are two more products: Still Water and Transparent Water textures. They are very simple to use and offer a wide range of possibilities for modellers of any level.

Therefore, this set of products has everything needed for building a muddy scene or add thick mud to a vehicle, all in an easy and quick way. The set includes a step by step guide for the products.

I'm with Andras, seriously, it's probably 90% Elmers/white glue and 10% acrylic pigment anyone could mix. Never mind the quality feel the profit margin. Tim

Tim, honestly I doubt it is so simple. First of all, making realistic water (and there are two products in the set) is not easy at all. And for the ground, you should add either ground or plaster to the glue to get the right texture, and not sure you get the same effect. Probably advanced and old users can mix their own recipes with good results, however these products are easier to use, quicker and produce consistent results each time you use it. So, I really think there is a place for them. As for Andras comment, yes, it makes things easier but at the same time allow to add your own touch if you want, with additional pigments or colouring.

Hi Carlos (I don’t think we’re related but you never know!) I actually agree with everything you say – and incidentally you don’t get enough thanks for bringing all these new products to our attention, so a sincere thank-you from me. All the same I believe I’m entitled to an opinion and others can take it or leave it. What irritates me is that products like this & e.g. “mud” concoctions tend to stultify experimentation. Rather than work something out for oneself, fail, try again and learn, and hopefully eventually succeed, it’s handed on a plate and nothing is ventured or gained. Apart from the wallet being lighter. And sure, taking that argument to its logical conclusion why do I buy kits with pre-formed parts at all when I should be scratch-building everything? Good point, I don’t claim to be perfect. All I know is that the most rewarding part of this hobby for me is when I depart from the given & come up with something as good or better of my own, and I suspect I’m not alone. But we’re not all the same, one thing I am sure of is that some people will buy this stuff in a heartbeat, good luck to them & I’ll no doubt rave about how good it looks in a dio. Vive la difference Tim

Mud and water -how does it get any more basic than this for dios? Would like to give it a try and report back on my results.

Sounds like a nice project. I worked with their "Water" a while ago and that worked nicely. If this works the same it will save time from "bending boilderplate" and allow to concentrate on other elements of a dio/vignette. Love this type of stuff.

Hi Tim, Yeah, it would be funny to have an n-cousin at the other side of the world!! At the end of the day, it's just that... everyone can choose their way and work more or less, focus on building or painting, etc. The only important thing is to have fun

For the size of the pot I would go for their large bottles of still water. when you think it is £5 for 30ml in those jars LINK but £9-45 for 200ml which is the size i use. LINK and you tend to use a lot in one scene.
