So if I want to create a diorama where the engine is being removed from M60 by M88 I would have to buy both LF1343 set (to have sling parts) and LF1344 set (for comparment parts) and will end up with two engines... Not sure if it makes sense. While the separate sling and engine set makes sense, I think the compartment & engine set should also include sling parts. On the other hand if a powerpack swap scene is being shown, two engines can actually come handy... Hmmm...

A third option would be scratchbuilding the sling. I'm sure you could do that Judging by the pics below, this sling apparently comes in various flavors... Full size Full size Full size H.P.

The sling is specific to the powerpack. There is obviously a few types for M1 powerpack, but they wouldn't be suitable for AVDS-1790. And life's too short to scratchbuild parts that are already available in good quality

All modern power pack slings are basically an I-beam "T" with various attachment points for lifting and securing the power pack to. They are easy to build.

My bad ! I don't know why I've searched for Abrams power pack pics....Should have paid more attention to the news text On a side note, the sling included in Hobby Fan's similar set looks quite different : H.P.

That is a very different and not really modern power pack for the 1950s M41, M42, etc. series vehicles. Most modern slings are still "T"s. This is the M48/M60/M88/M1 sling.

Personally I'm just thrilled about the engine offering...the sling is a bonus I'm prepared to work around. The detail sets are also welcome! Now I just need a good Buffolo and we'll have an engine swap dio in the making.
