Hobby Boss’ Turtle finally comes out of its shell.
Developed by Skoda, the design of the PA-II capitalized on previous experience gained from the PA-I. With its all-around streamlined armor bodywork, the PA-II earned the nickname of “Želva” (Tortoise), the official designation however was Obrněný Automobil model 1923 (OA vz.23). Following submission of blueprints in late 1923, an order for 12 vehicles was placed, with deliveries expected to commence by December 1924. The Czechoslovak Army conducted tests but the vehicles were not accepted for reasons of being heavy, hindered off-road capability due to poor ground clearance, and a cramped internal fighting compartment. The vehicles were eventually sold – 3 to Viennese and the remaining 9 to Czech police forces. A number of Czech PA-IIs were seized and incorporated into the Wehrmacht after 1939. Modified to carry radios for use as relay vehicles, it is believed that they have been in service until 1945.

Kit# 83888 consists of more than 140 parts in 4 sprues, upper hull, rubber tires, photo-etched frets. Decals provide options for Czech and German markings. As built, its dimensions would be 173.6mm (L) by 61.2mm (W).

Available by December 2016.

Wow only 12 made. Still, it is cute looking and different so what's not to like?

Truly bizarre! If I met one of these on the road in 1944 I would have had trouble keeping it together and not laughing myself sick! Goes to show you that if they build it someone will be dumb enough to use it...though in wrecked form it might be a nice background addition to a dio?
