This new system from Modelling Zenith looks set to revolutionize the application of PE! No soldering, easy application, and a super-strong result!
This new tool for attaching photo-etched parts comes from Modelling Zenith. It really does look like it might revolutionize the application of photo etch in a bigger way than the Hold'n'Fold did a few years ago.

Folding complicated stowage bins and other parts up from PE has required the development of soldering skills or meesy application of superglue, which itself is notoriously weak and often comes apart just at the crucial moment!

With this new system from the Modelling Zenith, it appears to completely do away with the need to develop soldering skills, and results in a super tough bond, almost as strong as soldering.

The heart of the system is the Electronic control box and tool (see the picture). Using the special tool proivided in the kit, a small piece of PE can be held, the adhesive tablet wiped along it's edge, and the part held against the surface of the model, and when released, the part can actually be flicked with a finger and will not come off. The part can be repostioned with ease if necessary! This is not just a hot glue system, it requires exact temperature control in order to work.

Nope...your answer is Nope? Your not going to convince me otherwise? The smallshop website iis very hard to manuver around...places where buttons are don't work and alot of "mystery" surrounds this electric tweezer glue system. IMHO somebody please try to explain why i should invest time and money in this system. from the images and explanations provided by the photos the glue needs cure time just like Normal CA glue. Have they figured out that CA Glue works just as well if heated by a gripping solder tool tip? kevin

Kevin, my job is to review the product. That I've done. Nobody has to convince you.................apart from maybe the owner of the Small Shop? There are excellent photo's and instructions on their web site that explain in even more detail how it works. Read the explanations carefully, and no it's not the same as superglue. It has stronger shear strength, and parts can be repositioned. Add to that the other tools you can abtain to expand the system..........and you'll start to get the idea! Vinnie

Well Vinnie, did you actually use one of these things at the Doncaster show like you stated in an early post or what? I realize your job is to review a product. But all ive seen is basically forwarding of promo photos from the website and propaganda from the owner. I have yet to read where you actually used this item. enlighten me...because i have yet to see where you have done more than a propaganda job for this guy's "better mousetrap" Alittle insight from a trusted Staff Member whose job it is to review a product would be nice. Instead of pawning me off to a vendor's website. thanks kevin glackmeyer

Just a short note from me. It is not often that a new concept is shown and released this way. The whole reason for this long running method of review by Vinnie is to make sure that some one who had never seen the "system" and never saw the method recived it and started to use it with no pre-conceptions. Vinnine is learning in the same way you will, thus a "recording" of his developing skills and techniques will be of great benifit to the review. I do hope this new way of doing things can be taken as a honest and benifical method of launching a product, heck if he hates it is going to be a long negative road for me Alasdair ps We don't do propaganda Never have never will and never ask others either,

Kevin, the review was shown here on this site too. You must pay more attention. To the site, not my nails :-) ..... and you should have seen them before I photoshopped them! Vinnie
