Any Japanese armor release is great to see. Now where are the figures to go with it?

Hi, Russ! Here are a few suggestions that might help you: TAMIYA 35090- This is the ancient Japanese Infantry set of 4 attacking figures, as in, "BANZAAAIII!!!" MINIART 35128 Japanese Tankers, set of 5 figs in various poses MASTER BOX (MB) 3542 Bloody Atoll, Tarawa, November, 1943 series, which consists of 5 Japanese Imperial Marines figs, in "Banzai-charge" poses, (Set 1) MASTER BOX (MB) 3544 Bloody Atoll, Tarawa, November, 1943 series, which consists of 3 US Marines and 2 Japanese Imperial Marines figs, in "Hand to Hand" poses (Set 2) These MB sets are very dramatic in nature, and are great if you build up these 2 sets in 1 dio battle scene. They do well even without the addition of any kind of vehicle. DRAGON 6044 Japanese Infantry, Iwo Jima, 1945, 4 figs DRAGON 6565 Japanese Infantry Machine Gun Crew, Peleliu, 1944 FINE MOLDS FM22 Japanese Tank Crew FINE MOLDS FM23 Japanese Tank Crew, in more relaxed poses than FM22 FINE MOLDS FM37 Japanese Infantry Marching, in relaxed poses, not as if on parade FINE MOLDS FM38 Japanese Infantry 75mm Mountain Gun Type 41, in firing position, w/4 Crew, in appropriate poses FINE MOLDS FM39 Japanese Infantry 75mm Mountain Gun Type 41, in travel mode, w/4 Crew "struggling to move this thing" poses Over 10 years ago, WARRIORS made several different sets of Japanese Infantry: I don't have the part numbers handy, but one of the sets depicted a dramatic "Banzai" charge w/4 figs. The others were of several single figs, one of which was a "suicider" posed as if he were lunging at a tank with one of those "IED"-on-a-broomstick contraptions. Verlinden makes a few resin Japanese figures- an Officer standing, a Tank Commander, a couple(?) of POWs and a couple(?) of dead guys. Then there are various single figs available from various other manufacturers specializing in resin subjects... I may have missed a few, but this should help you a little...

And if you want to add an especially tall Japanese figure to your group, you can dig out the old Airfix 1/32 multipose figures and give them 1/35 scale weapons, kit and helmets.

Thank you for the replies. I actually have most of those sets. I should have specified. I would really love to see some tank riders, and Dragon offered a single figure with the initial Ha-go release, but only available in Japan. The previous Japanese tank releases from Dragon are some of their finest work. Unfortunately, their most recent Peleliu Japanese infantry is probably their worst.

What Russ said....

I know what you mean. I remember waiting for the next Tamiya release (many moons ago)just to find out what figures were going to be released with it. There weren't a lot of figure manufacturers or aftermarket companies then. It's just a shame that they release kits without crews. Modelkasten has a couple of nice sets of Japanese figures: LINK LINK Jeff
