Another Cyber Hobby Orange set is on the way to tempt diorama builders with some armored reconnaissance.
Cyber Hobby has announced another Orange value pack, this time mating an Sd.Kfz.250/1 with the Wiking Division Armored Reconnaissance figure set. This new set could lead to a great looking winter setting late in the war and offer you the chance to try your hand at a winter scheme on the half-track.

9149 – Sd.Kfz.250/1 “NEU” + Armored Reconnaissance Wiking Division, Hungary 1945 Figure Set

According to Dragon Models USA, this new set should be on store shelves in April 2014.

Yes! I must have it. Not so much for the 250, but for the figure kit that goes with it. Those two together would be a great little scene

My favorite half track paired with an amazing figure set? How can I resist!? I'll likely build the SS Wiking one on the box since I've always gone for the green and red squiggles over dunkelgelb. This vehicle looks really great in dunkelgelb by itself.

I believe the vehicle in the figure box art is a 250/5. But the two releases do complement each other.

Is this one of the 250's that has the complete transmission part betwen the seats or just that big old open space?
FEB 19, 2014 - 01:23 AM
I believe all the open top 250's lacked the trans. I think the only one with the trans was the one with roof and 20mm flak. The trans was on a small individual sprue ("X" I think) and separately bagged meaning it was an afterthought. I contacted Dragon USA for extra trans for the other 250's, but they refused, claiming that since this sprue wasn't supposed to be included in other 250 kits, then it wasn't missing, and they wouldn't provide it, even for sale. So I modified and further detailed the original kit part and made a mold for resin casting.
