Adding to the previous release of a SAS vehicle, Dragon Models has announced another variant of this vehicle in 1/35 scale.
Dragon Models has announced a second version of the 1/4-ton SAS jeep, this time mounting a .50 cal in the rear. From reading the description provided from Dragon, this kit seems to very similar to the previous release, including the mounting of the Vickers up front, with the only addition being the .50 cal and mount for the rear of the vehicle. Dragon has stated that the kit will include two new figures, and that the vehicle is the perfect pairing for the previous release.

6745 – SAS 1/4-ton 4x4 Truck with Crew – Smart Kit

According to Dragon Models USA this kit should be expected in June 2013.

This jeep is the same as the previous SAS kit save for a new .50 (available on aftermarket sites galore) and two new figures (can't they release them separately?). Dragon should cut us a break now and then. The first jeep kit is excellent and with only two new items these should make a great pair of SAS troopers coming back from a raid diorama. Ironmike

Somehow I just can't get excited over this one, as the 50 cal and mount as already stated is readily available as aftermarket item. They could have simply released the figures as a small set, or tooled up with a few more LRDG figures.

Are the figures really different from the previous release? I mean they could have chosen to only give new alternate heads and arms... Time will tell. Cheers, Christophe

Did I read somewhere that Dragon are releasing the European verison in 35th ? Or is it just planned in 72nd?

They did it in 1/6th scale (the European version).

I do like the two piece body tub. The removing of the bracing on the grill it would have been less costly just to tell the modeler to remove them on the instruction sheet no retooling needed. Oh about the two piece body tub does that explain the bracing along the floor and outer wall on their other releases.
