Maus Werx has a new anti slip product on the market for all those modern armoured fighting vehicles that need the grit treatment.
Creating the anti slip surfaces seen on most modern armoured fighting vehicles has been tackled in a number of ways from sand and glue to textured sprays. Maus Werx has now entered into this aspect of modern military modelling with a two product pack consisting of “grip grit and clear coat”. The grip grit looks to have an excellent scale effect and is provided in a ˝ ounce jar along with a 2oz jar of clear coat which can also be used for a clear coat for decals. I think you will agree that the images look very promising for this product and I look forward to seeing what modellers make of it.

Directions for use of this product are
1. Brush on Maus Werx Clear Coat
2. Sprinkle Grip Grit onto wet Clear Coat and shake off extra
3. When dry recoat with Clear Coat
4. Let dry and paint.

Well, to be honest it seems to me too expensive and not so useful. I can find lot of powders which could be used for the same purpose and regarding the clear coat, it's likely to be nothing else a common clear acrylic paint. That's just my humble opinion anyway

Mauro I initially thought that about the price however the finish speaks for itself and it will be a consistant product.

Hey Chaps, I just received the Maux Werx Grit kitand did a quick test. It works quite well, and looks very realistic. I used the Academy Merkava IIID as a test and it does impart a good depiction of the anti-slip surface. The nice thing is that no masking is required as you can paint the "glue" on with a brush exactly where you want it. My only beef with the product is the price. After all, the "glue" seems to be nothing more than a couple ounces of Future or the Europeon equivilent. I don't know for sure what the Grit is, but for the amount you get, the price does seem a tad much...IMHO Laurie

Hmm, 'bout time something became available in a 'one shot' pot. But I don't think this is it! I get the same results using thinned pva and sieved budgie sand. Finding the right grade of grain/powder seems to be the tricky bit without it looking like a mountain range.
