Are the AFV Valentines the same as MiniArt's? MiniArt's are pretty good.

The AFV CLub kits are not the same as the Miniart kits. The Miniart kits have issues with the wheel diameters and spacings plus, apparently, the angles of the hull plates, fore and aft, are incorrect. I am told the AFV club kit does not suffer from these errors. Paul

Hi Paul, The wheel size 'issue' with the miniArt kit is way out of proportion, the difference is so small as to not be worth bothering about. I would agree that the wheel sets need relocated slightly. That's the first time however, I heard any issues with the hull angles? Personally I think the MiniArt kit is a fairly good one and offers good value for money and I like the internal options that come with their kits. Cheers Al

Having built the miniart chassis (used in the Bronco Bishop) and the AFV Club Valentine Mk II I would say the AFV Club kit is streets ahead of the miniart one in terms of suspension. The miniart one does have more interior detail in the drivers compartment though

I agree that it's not a huge deal and a wrap of .020" plastic will solve it if one is concerned. Just wanted to pass along the gen. How anyone uses it is up to them. I tend to agree and have 2 of the Mk IIs at home as well as a Bishop and Archer. Still, new wheel options isn't a bad thing either. Paul

I've got bot kits in the stash and have built both. The miniart kit is fine, not spectacular but good nonetheless. Yes it does have an interior, but the detail is clunky and not 100% right The AFV Club kit has no interior parts but is streets ahead of the miniart kit in sharpness of detail, moulding quality and general finesse. Its also accurate Personally, if I was to buy a valentine now I'd go with AFV Club, even if it was 20 or 30% more expensive (although if you shop around there is very little, if any, price difference) because its worth it in my opinion
