Dragon Models have made an announcement concerning the DS Tracks for the M4A2 Tarawa kit.
If you have bought, or thinking about, the Dragon Models M4A2 Tarawa Kit #6062, see the attached image for an announcement concerning the kit supplied Dragon Styrene(DS) tracks.

I would like to commend Dragon for making this announcment and offering replacements.

Is this a new announcement? If it is they've taken their time-the kit was released in 2006 I might be wrong but I seem to remember this from shortly after the kit was released

Dragon might have an issue on their site then, as it is coming up as a new post. Interesting.

I have a different issue with their DS tracks. On 3 kits now, a 1/35th M4A3 76, a 1/72nd M4A3 76, and a 1/72nd scale Panther G I have had the tracks literally fall apart between a couple of months and a year after building. Its not so bad on the 1/35th, I can get replacement track but in 1/72nd you are pretty much stuck.

This announcement is on the Dragon website since shortly after the kit release several years ago. This is VERY OLD news. I suggest removing this "/news" story, as this is just another example of ridiculous "announcements" of old products and information that appear here recently... And it is not coming as a new post - it is shown in the same spot since 2006. Dragon probably consider it important enough to keep it there.

Well Kevin...THANKS, Since I don't go to the Dragon site I didn't know there was an issue and now I do. This may not be a new "/news" item but it was worth a re-posting. I have often thought about getting that Sherman and now I'll be prepared. Thanks again, Jeff

ditto...on a 1:35 Pz III with the tracks painted with acrylics and no oil based washes added. Needless to say I won't bother with DS tracks anymore...not that I was thrilled with the way they looked anyway

Maybe Dragon need to find out what they were made out of.
