Review
This offering from MiniArt is provided in one of their end opening cartons - packaging I am not a fan of due to its limited level of protection. This release, pleasingly for a change, is in 1/48th scale and I am sure will prove very popular with aircraft modellers who like to display their finished models in a ground setting.
In this release you get 4 figures in Africa Corp clothing, which is being worn in an informal manner. Clothing detail despite being informal has a nice level of detail and I quite enjoy seeing the pith helmet - sometimes indicated of Africa corp. figures. The figures are depicted in a number of stances/roles - one is painting, another is carrying a tool box which from what I remember means “leave me alone, I’m busy”, another is sat with a clip board which is another excuse for “leave me alone I’m busy” and the last figure is shown performing some function with tools.
Included with these 4 figures is an excellent mix of tools and workshop equipment. For the painter we have: a stool, a paint can and bucket plus a step ladder. A compressor is also present and a spray gun. 2 useful items that do not really fit but are provided are 2 shovels. The wooden tool box being carried is provided with items such as spanners, hammer and the like. Then we have a work bench, with a pillar drill, a stone grinder, a vice (2 types), G clamps, blowtorch, a wood plane, and finally an anvil. 2 metal tool boxes are provided in the set and are reasonably detailed - a small photo etched fret provides items such as spanners and all in all I suspect that this release will be eagerly sought after. My only issue is that some of the moulding is a little rough where is has come out of the mould and will need careful clean up.
