MiniArt is the star of kits for the diorama fan and has released a cement mixer and two figures that are capable of covering a very long period of time. I will say that I am no fan of the end opening card cartons favoured by MiniArt for products of this type as its level of protection is poor. The moulding quality is good and meets my high expectations of MiniArt in terms of quality and detail.
Looking over this release I am pleased to see that the hats for the figures are moulded separately from the heads and so extending the period the set is good for. The design of the cement mixer was certainly still in use in the 1990’s in the UK and I expect everywhere else. The wheelbarrow included does not fit a later time period, the barrow portion with a more modern wheel and some wire to replicate the frame will bring it up to date. The clothing on the figures is none descript as regards time period which is good and even the figure in an apron does not set a time period.
