1960s,1970s Farming in Vietnam

Another Vietnam War offering from Gecko Models titled 1960s,1970s Farming in Vietnam

Review

This release from Gecko Models is a case of you wait for a Buffalo to come along and then several arrive at once. In this offering you are provided with 2 figures, a male farmer dressed in a button shirt and loose trousers and utilising one of the buffalo to plough dry land. I am unsure if the plough design supplied here would be suitable for use in a paddy field. However, I believe, that the Buffalo basically pulls a device behind it and the rice plants loosely placed in the paddy field. The Buffalo utilised with the plough is a duplicate of the standing Buffalo in the Buffalo diorama set also released by Gecko Model.

The same is also said of the female figure released here, this time with a Buffalo laying on the ground, which is not the same as the previous release mentioned, as more of the animal is exposed. The twine supplied again meets with my approval, as it looks a suitable natural product which once wetted to remove the memory of the material and to then dry in the orientation you have set for it. Looking at the product as it stands, I am undecided if I would buy both of the Buffalo products offered so far, but I would definitely grab hold of one or the other as they have a lot of appeal.

A nice thing about Gecko Models is that they arrive in a firm cardboard tray with a flip top lid; this is further supplied slipped inside an end opening card carton with all of the artwork on it. I like that this provides a good level of protection to the product itself which are also protected inside their own bag or Ziploc bag.
