The game “World of Tanks” has spawned many model companies to release the rare fictional vehicle and prototype vehicles to be produced. The US T34 heavy tank is one such vehicle. This release from HobbyBoss is packaged to the usual high standard, and so should reach you in good condition. Photo etch elements are minimal, but do cover most grab handles. 2 barrel choices are included, with one having what I believe to be a counter weight due to its location, but I may be wrong it that belief. The hull detail is very reminiscent of the M48/M60 family, especially in the wheel layout.
A detail that many will appreciate is the casting detail on the turret, which also is not uniform and so looks natural. The track links are workable individual links, which will not please everyone. The suspension units are fixed in a neutral position, so individual links do not really give you anything, but does take away the concerns about the tracks breaking down. My main disappointment with the kit is that no clear elements have been provided, which effect the Commander’s hatch mainly. But even with those things taken into consideration, this release does provide you with one of those prototype vehicles that appeared at the end of the war and as in many cases seen as no longer required.
