Werkstattkraftwagen Auf RSO/01

MiniArt continue to pump out the RSO with the release of a Werkstattkraftwagen Auf RSO/01

MiniArt are really going to town on the RSO line of vehicles, as in this release the RSO is being used as a mobile work shed. Anybody who has read any of the previous reviews on the RSO family of vehicles, will have a good idea of what the model consists of and so I will keep this part as short as possible. You get a very good engine and gearbox, with only wiring needed to be added, transmission tunnel is also nicely detailed inside and out. The tracks for the model are provided via link and length, meaning that it is kept as simple as possible for those who like rubber band tracks while having the quality of individual track link detail that some fans prefer. The cab doors can be shown open or closed, as can the cab windows can also be shown wound down or up. The cab interior is well presented, including the tunnel area that runs through the cab. I cannot comment on the accuracy completely, but what I can say is that where I have been able to look at online interior surfaces compared to the model it is a good match. The bed of the truck is wooden, and is built up into a shed like structure with a workbench on one side. This has 8 drawers in it however; I would have liked to have at least one of the drawers separate in order to be able to show it open. The other side has been used for tool storage, where you have a compressor, a tool box, and a carpenters toolbox. On the work bench you are provided with anvil, a vice, a pillar drill, a grinder, a blow lamp and an open toolbox along with a number of tools that are loose on the bench. These are a mixture of photo etch and plastic. Also included in an opened up step ladder for gaining access to the back of the shed easily. On one of the finishing options there is what I believe to be a storage box attached to the roof of the cab for the second finishing option.

The finishing options are:

Unidentified Unit, Eastern Front, Spring 1943

Leichte Artillerie-Abteilung 425 (RSO). Eastern Front, 1943

Leichte Artillerie-Abteilung 849 (RSO). Poland, Autumn 1944.
