Road trains consisting of a ZIL-13081 tractor and an ODAZ-885 flatbed semitrailer were widely used from 1964 until the early 21st century. The tractor was manufactured by the Likhachev Automobile Plant in Moscow. The ZIL-13081 could tow almost twice as much as a ZIL-130 flatbed truck. The ODAZ-885 semitrailer with a metal platform was manufactured by the Odessa Automobile Assembly Plant, and from 1971, its production was duplicated at a trailer plant in Stavropol. The semitrailer itself weighed 2.85 tons, meaning the road train could carry7.5 tons of cargo. It was also indispensable for transporting long items, as the semitrailer's platform was 6 meters long, compared to 3.52 meters for theZIL-130 flatbed truck.
