a photo feature by Mark Wells of a Trumpeter kit

This diorama depicts Trumpeters BTR 80 and Tos 1A kits, they are used in this diorama which depicts a scene from the second Chechen war. The Tos 1A is a particularly unpleasant, but extremely effective rocket system capable of destroying a sizeable city block. Each one of its 24 × 220 mm rockets has a thermobaric warhead which destroys its target using a combination of massive overpressure and extreme heat. Both kits are pretty much your standard Trumpeter affair with generally excellent fit and good detail and no major pitfalls to really speak of. Both kits were painted using Tamiya acrylics as base colours and oil's to tonally vary and weather the finish. Figures are a mix of Ant, Master Club and Evolution, all painted with oil's.

The vehicles & figures came out great & the groundwork is also well done. That Tos looks like a Katyusha on steroids. But for me, that last overhead shot reveals too many straight lines & 90 degree angles.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Wall and ruin are offset by about 10 degrees, with the BTR just slightly angled with border. Camera shots tend to slightly distort the actual layout. Did not bother with wheel impressions on the ground as the groundwork is meant to represent a hard-baked, well worn stony surface which would hardly register anything anyway. That was the master plan which is always open to interpretation by the viewer. Thanks for your observations.
