Anti-tank Dodge

According to George, this is a very rough kit in need of real help so he used Allied/Axis #17 to help in updating this oldie.

Details include: fender rivets and braces, rifle scabbard made from wine foil, cleaning rods and chain added to rear gate, side view mirror added, MV Lenses, new front grille made from Evergreen, armored seats made from styrene stock and ApoxieSculpt, bucket holder and straps on the front fender, Tasca water and fuel cans, instrument dials from Fingerprint Designs, a cover of wine foil for the winch plus a chain and hook, small writing desk on the passenger side, fire extinguisher, windshield wiper motors and dummy straps made from wine foil. And this is not all of them!

Some of the extra work includes the clean-up of the gun and shield which mainly involved a lot of sanding to give a more finessed look to it; drilling out the protecting plate and adding a sight, bracing and bolts, a first-aid kit and an ApoxieSculpt muzzle cover.

The figure is from Helo and cast very well, minimal clean-up was required. All items were painted with MM enamels and weathered with oils and pigments.

About George Stray (gstray)
FROM: WASHINGTON, UNITED STATES

Been sniffing glue since I was 6 or so. I am now 44. I became obsessed with armor when I saw Tony Greenland's work in FineScale Model Magazine. I try to get better with each model. I am thankful for having a wife who really allows me to get in to my hobby!

Yet another very nicely finished model that is eye catching.

That looks good. I was just pondering whether to get the Airfix boxing or not, might have to consider it. Kimmo

Kimmo: While George does a nice job with the Peerless/Airfix/Italeri kit, may I suggest you get the AFV Club WC-51 BEEP plus this new conversion kit by Blast instead? LINK This will yield a very accurate final result. George: kudos! Great work on that old kit!

Very nice build of an old old kit.

I'd call you a plastic surgeon! Great jpb!

If I had the cash to go that route I would. I'm not saying that the Skybow and conversion aren't worth the price tag, but I keep seeing the Airfix and occasionally the Italeri boxings for less than 20 euros. I don't mind reworking older kits, to a point of course. Kimmo

George, you did the old kit proud. I can imagine rebuilding the grille was a kit in itself!

You almost had me fooled! I was going to ask when you had the time to do another one of these.

Thanks you guys! What timing on the Blast kit...I could have really used this. It's a cool enough subject, I may do another down the line.
