JagdSturmtiger 122

  • move
A kitbash for the What If IV campaign. The base model is the Italeri Sturmtiger with the 122mm gun and mantlet from the Cyber Hobby 3-in-1 JSU-152. Numerous PE and resin parts were incorporated into the build as well. This JagdSturmtiger JSU-122 was a 'last ditch' effort to field a more practical use for the Sturmtiger chassis during the fight around Berlin.

I love building German AFVs from WWII, and really enjoy the artistic licensing available in What If builds and Paper Panzers.

Now you had me checking what Shawn wrote in his email, but he definitely wrote 152... Thing is, the kit he used is boxed as a 152 but it also contains parts to make a couple of 122 variants as well, hence the 3-in-1 tag, so it seems perhaps that's where the confusion may lie. If Shawn wants I guess we can edit the feature - unless swapping the barrels over is an option...

Im sorry for the confusion, it is a 122mm barrel that came in the JSU-152 kit. The barrel and mantlet were available to make the JSU-122M variant.

Amended the feature, though personally I can't amend this forum thread title however.

Well, getting back to the model... I like it. A perfect "What If" for a period in time that could have happened had the war gone on further. AND, it's a Sturmtiger chassis so I'm on board anyway. Jeff
