paint timeWith the hull interior work completed it was time for paint. Access to the internals would be nigh on impossible once the hull was closed up so it had to be approached in this fashion. All interior component sub-assemblies were cleaned and treated to a quick blast of Tamiya Extra Fine Grey Primer and once dry everything, including the underside of the upper hull, got a couple of basecoats of Lifecolour Matt White or Matt Green thinned 50/50 with LC’s own thinners applied through my trusty Iwata Eclipse CS. Details were then picked out using a combination of Lifecolour and Games Workshop Foundation acrylics. Overall washes were applied using Abteilung oils and the whole assembly set aside to fully cure before an overall flat coat was applied. All sub-assemblies were fitted using CA adhesive and once dry and the upper hull was attached and secured with tape until set. Joins received a light sanding and we were ready for the externals.
