Water-line Conversion of Injection Molded Full Hulls

Voila'!!!

Here's why I make my cut exactly on the water-line. After adding the 2mm base plate, it will give me that area of lower hull that is painted red and quite often visible above the water. Example shown is my almost completed IJN Myoko.

You may notice a couple of little gaps where I didn't keep the drill holes in perfect alignment. These can be filled before painting, but I seemed to have missed these.

I hope these methods can be of use to builders considering a water-line job on their full hull ships.

Very nice feature. I have a ship in my stash that is a full hull in 1/700 scale that I want to make into a waterline. This will be of great help. Sam
