Sutton Coldfield

Sunday 10th September saw the Sutton Coldfield Model Makers Society stage it's 30th anniversary show at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall. This show has become increasingly popular over the last few years, so much so in fact, that the organizer's say there was a waiting list of clubs wishing to attend the show this year.

The show is held over 3 large halls in Sutton Coldfield Town Hall, and the club has already booked a further hall to be used for next year's show!

The day turned out out to be warm and sunny, the parking at the venue was cheap and readily available, loads of traders as well as clubs attending........what more could you wish for? Entry into the event was a very reasonable £3, there was a refreshement area next to the club stands, and attendance was up!

A separate room was set aside for the contest area, most classes being well subscribed to, although there were a few for which there were no entries at all. The standard of the competition entries ranged from average to very good, with a bust of a Celt Warrior from Kevin Peart taking 'Best of show'. The full list of winners is as follows:

Vinnie, Great report. I was planning on going but moving out of the area didn't allow. One things though the link to more photos is not working and takes me to shots of an M40. Ross

It was indeed a fine day out! Good to see you again Vinnie and Kieth! Hopefully the IPMS Bulldogs branch will be there next year. Thanks for putting my ugly mug on the thread Vinnie,,LOL,,my son is behind me and he had a great day,,but he hasnt got any plans to start building targets just yet,,despite your efforts :-) My P47 took 3rd in the 1:72 Aircraft class which was the icing on the cake for a great show. Nige :-)
