This is a figure i have had for many years, but recently came into conflict with my Grandson, the Lancer lost,so i had to strip him and go for a repaint,The figure is from a long lost company called Series 77,i first bought it in the 1980s,the scale is roughly about 90mm,and depicts a trooper from the 17th Lancers on the way back from the mad charge at Balaklava,1854,the figure was painted entirely in oils,a change from my recent enamel forays, the biggest bugbear was trying to keep the gloss effect off the blue, but a wee bit of enamel mixed with the oil sorted it out,i thought about weathering him a wee bit more but chickened out let me know what you think, too clean and tidy,or rough him up a bit.

I really like everything here, colour, paint, subject, too bad we can't see his eyes!
He should really run faster, from what i read, he will be cut down by cossacks in a few minutes at this pace

Arthur, leave him just the way he is. There's just enough dust on him to be realistic, any more would kill the effect.
Nice one mate!

Hi Arthur,

I agree with dave, leave him as he is mate. You've done a wonderful job on him.
Really looks very nice.

All the best

Very well done not to mention vivid shades of well blended highs and shadows. The white portions come off very well too. Lovely work as always Arthur.
