having seen this kit in the forums for the last few days, i have to say never mind the kit, the box art is fantastic! just one question (for now!) what are the flat transparencies in the middle of the sprue for? one looks like a clear panel to show off the nose mg's. is that what it is? and the two small square-ish pieces look like transparent panels

Hi Phil

The flat clear panels are canopy armour for the A-8/R8 Sturmbock version due to be released later. The other part is indeed top-decking to go over the engine on a future version - it has the gun openings faired over - but why it's clear, I'm unsure...

All the best

yes, agreed - the presentation looks superb - fabulous kit...can't wait to get my hands on one ....

For those those interested in the history of the machines they build or who like to build aces' machines, the only nit to pick is Eduard's research regarding Walther Dahl - as Dahl explained in his memoir 'Rammjäger' he had a serious falling out with Göring on 30 November 1944 which saw him side-lined to await a courts martial - ie he was no longer flying from Jüterbog (not Jüterborg) in December 44 with the Stab JG 300 .. ..neat touch though to include two different sets of the B-17 emblem !

I know what you mean Jean-Luc but I've got a lot of builds on the go at the moment including backdating Tamiya's A8 to an A7 and I'm afraid SWMBO would skin me if I bought anything else at the moment.

Cheers
