Andy and Gunnie,
Ok...I think that should fix it. Let me know if that cleans up the homepage on the default view.

Thanks,
Jim

Nice job!
Looks great!!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
It works perfectly in IE 5.1.4 now.

Netscape is still no go for some reason (system 9 piece o' junk! ;-) )

I take it Gunnie has similar problems?

Cheers
Andy

Jim, one comment on the legibility after a few day´s practising with the new layout.

I have this brain damage that I find it very difficult to read several lines of text aligned right, flushing left. I mean the forum topics. It´s hard to go through quickly as the starting point of each line is not the same.

I would suggest left alignment, right flush. It´s also more natural for anybody in Western culture to read as it follows the reading direction!

What mostly affects in my feeling of the new Armorama is the colour scale which gives me a kinda cold feeling. (Color psychology, here we go!)
It´s maybe the dark grey bars with bolts...Grey backgrounds in forums work well and are very legible, but I can´t shake the "standard" operating system feel because of the added greyness of the site.

Keep up the great job Jim, these comments are just IMHO!

Toni

PS. No, I really don´t have a brain damage. It was only ment to be a comic way to give some meaning to my words. My apologies.

Oh dude! That's cool!!! :-) :-) :-)

The design is a bit cleaner, easier to read, brighter, yet it's still ArmoramA... I love it!!!!!
It's just... cool!!! Sharp, flashy, simple. More features packed into less space.

Long live Armorama.com v.2.0!!!!

Thanks Jim!!! Great work!!!!!!!!!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

I see Jim made you Jedi Knight {congrats on General} wow wonder what that took. I wonder if he would make me a Field Marshall.

Jim,
As always an excellent job. At first I thought I was trippin' on caffeine again and I couldn't log off. But I slowly came around and said I was sober. Thanks again for this amazing website.

You may seem some odd behavior on your end for the next hour or less.

My wife claims that has nothing to do with the internet, but rather with this particular user #:-)

Hi Jim

The display problem I'm describing happens in Explorer.
I can't get it to load at all in Netscape.

Andy

Andy,
I think I fixed the Netscape 4.x problem. The site still looks ugly as heck in Netscape. Sorry for that. But when 78.72 % of our users us IE, you bet I am going to design/code towards that.

Lets hope Netscape 7.0 is a drastic improvement over 6.0.

Armorama doesn't have any problems with the Opera browser either, Jim. Opera is my default browser since it's free (has ads though) and very fast. Netscape users might want to give Opera a try . The Chatter Boxes don't work in Opera though
