Hey Guys I just received something to make it a lot easier doing the Light Guards on Shermans . They have just been released.

I have their German and US tool clamps sets. They're beautifully printed and the material (resin?) is flexible enough to handle being cut off the base. I used the German clamps on a King Tiger recently and I was really happy with the results.

Same here...got both the German/US set. Now all I gotta do is build something in order to use them!

That's the problem now...you have to plan your builds 3 or 4 months in advance, especially if you order AM products! I've had to put a couple of projects on the back burner because I'm still waiting after a couple of months for some stuff. Don't even know if they will actually arrive at all!

Gordon Kwan at Spruebrothers said he's awaiting a big shipment. That might be the option for N American buyers, once it rolls in.

I just looked at Shapeways, and couldn't find any light guards for the M4 Sherman.
They did have some really nice ones for the M3 - M5 Stuart.
Maby these are what you meant ?

I just ordered three sets of those from HobbyEasy. For the first time ever I ordered from them with surface shipping (as airmail is currently unavailable to Poland). I wonder if they'll arrive before Christmas?...

Shapeways still use several years old 3D printing processes for small detail parts. Completely outdated in terms of quality - you can now buy small 3D printers offering better quality for less than $300...

This is why I informed you all earlier, MJ Minitures had a price of Purchasing over $100 U.S. there was free airmail.
My order for eight sets came to $112 U.S.
I was informed that my order was shipped on a Monday by DHL wich I understand is a German air shipper.
It was scheduled for delivery the following Thursday.
Well it arriver the following Wednesday.
That is shipped Monday arrived Wednesday = 3 days.
I wonder how they did that?
If over $100 is too much to order maby you could go together with frends and order together.

Last time I ordered from them directly, they were so overwhelmed with orders it took them two months to ship it, so this time I decided to go for other source, which had this item in stock. I still have to wait, but at least I know the package is on the way.

I put an order in to Hobby Easy that was mailed on April 21 and I received it May 29 (in Canada). So surface mail took roughly 6 weeks (Hong Kong Post has said they are trying to speed up surface mail). I know it's not Poland, but hopefully it doesn't take long. That was the first time I ever used surface mail from them as well since it's the only option to Canada.

DHL is a courier service no different then FedEx, UPS and others. Just like FedEx and UPS, they have their own fleet of planes and trucks so they are not affected by the current loss of air traffic that normal air mail uses.

This is for those of you that have or have ordered these Guards.
MEK & Super Glue will not bond these Guards, You will have to experiment on the scrap trimmings that will bond them to the plastic.
I had an old tube about 20 Years old from when I built Wooden Aircraft, It worked fine.
Here are some Pics. on using the Guards.
Score below the Weld beads, Yeh they are hard to see but they are there.

Those guards do look good, but I'm waiting to hear what glue you used, as they are worthless if they can't be fixed to a model...

Your expectations for a certain amount of responses are unrealistic. You didn't invent the things, you bought them. If anyone is going to get a lot of feedback it will be the manufacturer.
And you didn't even finish using them. You haven't found a glue that works and haven't shown how the lines look when painted.
