Sorry for the delay in getting this rolling! I had no time accrued at the new job and have had no real time off!

So enough whining! Here is my subject, the Russian Bumerang IFV:

and not sure if this site requires it or not, but here is my pic showing it as unassembled (at least as of 1/1)

Again so sorry for the dee-lay, but let's get it rolling!

Already enlisted for this campaign.
With the AFV Club AF35233 1/35 Sd.Kfz.233 8-Rad w/ 7.5cm Gun, on its way to my doorstep, it should be fun to participate. Gonna place my entry pictures when the kit arrives(of course).

wow guys, that is gonna be a neat pair of choices!

Always liked then "Stump" short 75mm when sitting on an armored car, and the MRAP is a neat vehicle! For some years I traveled up & down I-26 in South Carolina, and frequently saw these being hauled to the port of Charleston to be ferried over to "the sand box" or Afghanistan, can't wait to see the work done here!

Hi all
I will build the Panda Hobby M-ATV for this campaign. I think it's time to get it out my stash. I know it's not an easy build so don't expect daily updates

Ok so the reason for the delay in starting this is that my grad-school son is home:

Yes, he is some 5.5 inches (14cm) taller than me. yes, I am the shortest in crew! He had to go home today:

But enough about us...let's model!!!

Ok so this is my first Panda models kit, and I have to say, pretty impressed! There has been some flash and mold seams on the round shocks, but all in all it has gone together quite well so far. There is a lot to the suspension, and so this is what 6 hours in looks like:

It took some effort, but all 8 wheels are touching:

First wheeled anything I have done in many years hope to get more done tomorrow!

Bruce good start. Congrats to your son.

Poor quality for my RG31, there are sink marks on a lot of parts. Putty will be very usefull.

Here are the first pics of my M-ATV. A lot of cleaning is required as the molding lines are quite prominent. Some flash is present too on numerous parts. The fit is poor as anticipated from the reading of some build logs here and there. Every contact surface must be thoroughly cleaned before using any glue.
In the end, it is buildable but beginners should stay away and choose the newer RFM kit instead.

I will post more pics later.

Here is my entry - the Italeri AB43 armd. recon car.
It looks to be an interesting kit.

The chassis is over. Not the best I have built so far but at least the four wheels seem to be aligned. I still don't have decided whether or not I use the kit wheels or resin replacement ones with the sagging effect.

So here is where mine currently sits. There is still alot of mall bits to get on there, not to mention the mirrors, but the majority of the assembly is complete.

Really a pretty nice little kit overall! some of the parts were a tad fiddly, but the detail is certainly there, so it makes it worth it. I especially like the way the main gun and co ax MG have hollow bores, same for the muzzle brake too.

I was feeling pretty beat so i just stopped here. i will try to get some better detailed pics of it once I get some of the grab handles and the like on there and complete. Till then for this, Come on gang, let's see those wheeled babies roll!

Hi Bruce
I meant that the kit was not the best engineered I had built. To get a proper fit you need to rework nearly all the contact surfaces. But if you're patient enough (which is the core of the hobby, isn't it?) you can get a nice rendition.
I've just started assembling the crew compartment. No pictures yet but they are coming soon.

Your 8 wheeler is nice.

A quick build Bruce. Looks great.

Looks like most of the hard work is done Olivier. Patience paid off getting it together like that.

Peter
I would have loved that the hard work is over. But this kit is a dog. Nothing fits without a thorough cleaning. The PE is really stiff and Panda doesn't give the appropriate instructions to bend the parts so you have to guess how to do.

I managed to get the dashboard done as well as some seats which I won't glue yet. I will paint all the interior in sub assemblies before assembling the whole thing.

Well Olivier, I know you have the ability to overcome the issues, so I am looking forward to watching your struggles result in a great build.

Thank you for the kind comments Peter.
I managed to apply some paint to the interior. The radios are from a Blast Model set. The wiring is done according to the walkaround available at this site. I still need to add some security harnesses and weather the whole thing a bit. Then I will shut the box and resume the assembly of the vehicle.
The seats are not glued yet that's why some have a weird angle.

As I have a lot of time, I managed to go forward pretty quick. The interior is done and glued to the chassis. The rear flatbed was assembled during while the paint was curing.

Panda Hobby asks you glue all the details on the large parts before adding them to the vehicle. I never do this and in this case I totally disagree with such a build sequence which would end in breaking parts during the numerous handlings.

Hi Bruce and everyone!
Have just enlisted to this campaign because it's running a whole year. So I might have a chance to squeeze my build in the next 12 months. I'll build a Bundeswehr ATF Dingo (RoG 1/35), most likely one in ISAF service.

Have fun!

Not a bad choice Torsten. It needs some detailing for the interior and an AM weapon station would be a plus as Revell tends to give poor rendition of these things.
