Well, not much going on here since my last post..
At least I'm nearing the finish line, putting on the last decals (of the few) and the missiles and drop tanks.

P.S. Don't know why the picture is so small, had some problems to upload it, too. I hope this bug will be taken care of soon.

Well, you are right, this campaign is near to finish for most of the participants, only some late guys (like you and me) are still working on the kits. I do not wonder about the low activity in posting.

Is there a chance that you upload the photos to a photo-sharing service site and link it here? That would allow a bigger size and better detail looking. I use Flickr as that is linked to my yahoo account; so easy to use.

Thanks Tamás, for the hint. I think I'm already registered with Flicker so I'll give it a try

Gentlemen,

I am proudly report that my entry for this campaign is now officially completed. The Trumpeter JGSDF Type 89 kit beautifully molded and represents the vehicle far beyond the price tag compared to the last releases from Trumpeter, although my kit included the Lion Roar aftermarket PE set too. Actually that set is not on the market as I know but I was lucky to buy it from a Russian webshop. Perhaps the very last one on the globe.

Any much I like the result and the details which came out nicely with the a/m set, there is a huge negative point about the kit itself: the old fashioned vinyl tracks which are one of the worst I ever had, just a tiny bit better than I had in my Heller Leclerc kit (worst ever). I tried to find any replacement but did not succeed so had to use the ones from Trumpy. And it looks awful.

I used Tamiya paints XF-72 and XF-73 which were easy to airbrush and are very close (identical) to the original Japanes colors at least according to the reference pics I used. As I could not find any worn and rusty vehicle, nor completely dirty ones, I opted for a very slight weathering only.

Regards and Happy New Year for all!

Tamás
