I just saw on the Miniart Facebook page that they will be releasing a Czech production version of the T-55. The kit will come with multiple marking options (Iraq, Libya, Czech, etc). No release date was given.

Between this and the Polish version, I can see myself buying and building a lot of T-55's next year.

Here's to hoping they release a T-55AD sometime soon.

Miniart seems to be picking off all the variants so the chances of the AD are fair to good.

I would be so happy, if they would release a T-55AM2B WITH interior.

I’ve always wondered how many people actually build one of their 54/55 series?

I'm working on their T-54b kit. It's a bit complicated and parts are spread throughout the sprues, but it is looking good so far.

Hi Dan,

I have built two T-55 variants from Takom and had to buy the Miniart T-55 kit (no interior) to build a Hungarian version for the memory of my dad as Takom has nothing of the particular version in their line of this tank.
Not yet started but the Miniart kit does look superb, although requires some good skills. It is one of my “next target list” participant.

Actually, there never was anything like a Czech built T-54/55.

Country at that time producing these tanks was the communist ruled Czechoslovakia and the factory - lastly called ZŤS (Závody ťažkého strojárstva - Heavy machinery works) was in its Slovak part, wich was between 1938 - 1945 and since 1993 independent.

In the west, Czech was used as a shortened version of Czechoslovakia. To the west, there were/are Czech-built Soviet tanks.
