Time to throw my hat in this ring. I am planning on building the Bronco Dongfeng-1 missile. While it looks like a Chinese copy of the V-2, it is actually a licensed copy of the Russian SS-2 Sibling. It is more like a V-2 on steroids. Interestingly, this was the first in line of the Chinese strategic missiles and was operational up until the 1960s.

I'll do a comparison of the Dongfeng-1 with a V-2 in the same scale when I dig one of my 1/72 V-2s out of the stash. This will be slow build on my end as I have three other kits underway that I want to finish but it will get done.
Have fun modeling

Angel,

I almost pick this kit for this build but thought otherwise. Looking forward to seeing how you tackle this kit and how well it builds.

Mike,

That rocket is huuuge!
Very interesting subject and I warmly welcome the comparrison you intend to do between "mother" and "child(ren)"
Don't worry about slow building- I'm in the same boat(with 3 other builds to take care of)...

Mark,

It would have been a great fun having KdoGer.40 built simultaneously by 2 Campaign members, that live half-the-world-apart!
I'll do my best to give the kit the justice it needs and look forward to see your well-thought choice!

Haven't completely settled on my choice, have a few Bronco kits it turns out, but I think I'll go with this one.

Almost done with my Hetzer for another campaign, I'll be starting this one soon.

Nice choice, ComradeMP!

Bulgarian Army received 19 H-39 during WWII (as a substitute for the Pz.I/II Germany was not willing to deliver) and there is one on display in NMMH-Sofia.

The Army was not quite happy-to say the least-with the Hotchkiss and the tanks were given to the Gendarmerie.

I have some pictures of the H-39 in NMMH-Sofia, I can send you, and can take more if you are interested in particular features(I live 5 min. drive from the Museum).

Here's my entry:

Cover art would be the iconic Korean War paint scheme, but I'll paint this to single color olive drab of an airborne unit.

Howdy Y'all
I'll be trying to build Bronco's US M31 37mm anti-tank gun for this campaign. My start photo, although I won't be starting right away.

Take care,
Don "Lakota"

No rush for starting your AT gun, Don- there's plenty of time!

I'm glad you joined and settled on what you'll build within Bronco 2020,

Okay, went over to the Mother in Law's last weekend and took a kit to work on. She did her craftwork while I built and my wife talked (and talked, and..)!

Anyway, settled on the Bronco A9 as the kit to take. Start up pic:

Where I am at:

Mostly went together like a dream so far. Only issue is the 3 hatch covers on the round "Tommy Cooker" are not wide enough and there is a gap that needed to be filled.

I left the suspension movable at this stage, just to make sure every thing is flat later. It is not Bronco's intent that it articulate, it should be glued. The part where the 2 smaller road wheels will be fitted is not moveable, although it could be made to be posable if the modeller wanted to show the vehicle on uneven ground - just cut off the square locating pin and replace it with a suitable size length of brass rod.

I forgot to take some styrene card stock with me to replace the short etch pieces with holes Bronco gives you for the suspension components, as the short ones should not have holes. Bit the bullet and went with the kit ones anyway. My OCD tendencies are begging me to replace them....

and the other cleaned up bibs and bobs

By the way, if you have the kit, don't be tempted to replace the springs on the suspension with real springs or using wire. The A9 had square profile springs, not the usual round profile.

So it's the A9, Peter?
Looks like a fine choice!

Obviously, SWMBO's talking(and talk...) has played a very positive influence on the speed of your build

Nice start, mate- looking forward for more,

Thanks. There is just something about these pre-WW2 British designs that appeals to me. It must be that I feel sorry for the poor crews that had to make do with them.

I'm never going to be in your league Bogi … I usually get too wrapped up in detailing and correcting faults (eg the Hobby Boss ShKh Dana I'm doing for the 'Got wheels campaign') to be a speed builder, but this one is just falling together.

My first working progress. The beginning is not promising, but I hope that things will improve. Here are some photos:

I didn't assume that the Broncos have such crudely made models. But I'm going to try to get a decent look ... I guess I'm spoiled.
Good luck and have fun.

Good progress, Kalin!

Sorry to hear the kit is inferior to recent Bronco quality, but hey- you can also build one of their newer kits too

Like the Krupp Protze Kfz.70 Funkkraftwagen

Looks good to me Kalin. Yes Bronco's first handful of kits were on this chassis.

Thank you guys for the comments. I thought the Bronco models were unremarkable, but apparently their first products had their problems.
I sincerely hope the end effect is ...in a positive way.
Have fun.

I would love to do a campaign but my time and skills are both lacking. I love Bronco kits and will be watching this campaign with interest. Good luck to all of you who are participating.

Skill level has little to do with the campaigns Jeff. We all have to start somewhere and we are all in various stages along the journey. None of us consider ourselves to be 'Gods Gift to the modelling world", so do not feel intimidated.

The whole idea for campaigns is for people of all skill levels to get together and have fun, and if some can help others to better their skills or give them help with research, tips, etc, and most importantly, give encouragement (especially to finish), all the better.

We would love for you to join in, even if you don't finish. You may still get benefit from tapping into the collective as we go along.

I am joining in. I picked up the Bronco Panzer III A kit earlier this week.
It’ll be my first Bronco build. Hoping i can get through it and not get too frustrated.

Welcome Alvaro and Marc!
Glad you joined with your builds!

Jeff,
Bronco does offer some small count kits(like their WWII German Rubber Raft #AB3578), that do not require lavish amounts of time and high level skills to assemble and finish.
Will be glad to welcome you here!
