Just got two of these bad boys in the mail yesterday (25 Mar)...and all I can say is that these kits are loaded with details. Once I get around to building these cuties, I plan on a dual trailer tow job being tugged around by a yet to be determined vehicle.

Question for possibilities: any photos exist of these jewels in somewhat Opel Blitz wheels/tires being employed?? The kit uses what seems to be almost Russian style wheels...just wondering!

Where did you buy them from?? Every place I've looked says they're sold out.

They were sold out when I first started looking. Just check every day when/if they restock. Keep in mind that it might cost 20 Euro (or more) to ship to the States.

This kit continues fascinating me, but...

As it was not used by my country's armed forces, it is outside of my modelling subjects world.

I wish someday Bolddivision offers the Einheitsanhaenger 3t.

Only offer currently on the market is Best Value Models(Azimuth Productions) mix of Italery Blitz chassy elements/tires and resin load bed, and that's not a viable option for me...

While I'm just dreaming-I'll enjoy every E5 build I'll see,

Very cool trailer, I guess that beautiful wood planking’s going to get overpainted, shame. Regards to Alois..and his wife!

Been a while since I last updated this one. Made some progress over the last days.
Painted German Grey over hairspray & wood color.
They almost match the size of loading bed.

The dolly is still a WIP, unpainted to receive some scratch part like air valve connectors and electric box. Also the handbrake, from scratch needs to be added.
But it looks ok already.

For the back of the trailer, license plate and electric, as well the air valve needs to be added.

Thats it for now.

Kind regards,

Robert Jan

According to the Baumuster E5 from 1. 6. 44 this should be the layout for electric (red) and air (white). Only one thing missing, the back brake cylinder (air) needs to be connected too, (I forgot).

The difficult part is yet to come.

Kind regards,

Takes a long time, I know, but I ordered 2 little booklets about this trailer.
First one:
D 692/41 Einheitsanhängerer 5 t - Baumuster E 5 - Gerätbeschreibung und Bedienungsanweisung - Vom 1. 6. 44
And the second one:
D 692/42 Einheitsanhängerer 5 t - Baumuster E 5 - Ersatzteilliste - Vom 15. 3 43
Just a minor attention to the tires though. But it seems the tires of the kit are a little fat, they should be thinner. Working on that too.
Kit provides a second set with rims only. I drilled a spare resin tire from Custom Scale to fit the rim and it look just the part.

Inside of the rim needs a new flange / ring. Not the most difficult part I guess.
Tire comes from the 115 t Anhänger,(resin kit), from Custom Scale. Rims were awful, flimsy and most of them were broken. Tires are ok so lucky trailer gets new tires.

Kind regards,

Almost there...

Underside, almost finished...

The more I look at the tires... Time to replace, definitely.
Last one...

Chain in place at the back. Detail painting can start on pioneer tools and renditions of "air valves".
Tonight the front handbrake is planned.

Have a nice day,

Robert Jan

Lovely!
I especially enjoy the underside pictures and your effort to detail there, Robert!

For comparison...
The Blitz is dwarfed next to the Büssing NAG and 5 t Anhänger.

Last one...

I'm surprisingly amused with the Cyber Hobby Opel Blitz. On Sale at Hannants last October, I left one for the other customers (I was raised not being too greedy)
Now I have to get my restoration project (me) upstairs and get some fancy clothes on. Time to exercise walking with a tripod alu stick.

See you all in the funnies,

Robert Jan
