Nice work Kalin and Tim

Thanks Peter.

And with a Grumbacher Raw Umber artist’s oil wash, the little Goliath is completed.

And here I thought the 1/35 was a small kit to work with. Looks good.

Brings up a Smashing Campaign Subject & Tittle.
Tiny Tim Campaign
With respect Tim, I really like your work.

Back to the bench, as my tiny contribution to this campaign gets some tracks. Model Kasten K-19 is a superb replacement kit!
First time for me I bought them and a winner it is.

Kind regards,

Robert Jan

Like Kalin I will add some extra build to it. In my case it will be a Bronco Ammo trailer and a motorcycle on top of that.
Bought some Vulcan Kits of the Zündapp K800 and K500.
They are still on the market and a real joy to build, or just to have in your stash.
A little preview of the Vulcan Zündapp K800...

Talking about Tiny.

See you later this week with an update on the trailer and tracks for the Sd.Kfz.251/7 Ausführung C.

Tiny Tim build to go with his tiny wife too? BTW Tim, my wife is 5' 0' not much taller than yours!

The Goliath looks great. a good amount of detail for the size and the wash really brings that out.

Loving the bike Robert. Nice little extra touches there.

Robert, a very good idea for a motorcycle. I look forward to the next step with interest. Congratulations!

Thanks for the generous comments, guys!

The completed Goliath model is so small it made sense to place it on some kind of base.

A “wooden nickel” from Hobby Lobby should serve nicely as a platform.

I started by covering one side with Golden Gel Mediums Coarse Pumice Gel, a texturing agent used by artists. This creates a surface something like a 1/35th scale rocky beach.

I then smeared spackling paste over it to tone things down to something more resembling 1/72 scale earth.

The groundwork was painted with Tamiya Flat Earth (XF-62) acrylic.
At the same time, the base edge was treated with Watco Teak Oil, a nice honey-colored finish left over from varnishing the oak floors in my house.

Finally, a sprinkling of Noch static grass flocking gives a little life to the groundwork.

Placed on the base with a couple of 6mm swamp tuft weeds from Army Painter Battlefields, the tiny Goliath demolition vehicle looks ready for trouble!

Just depends on how fast of a builder you are. You've got about 6 weeks.

Concentration on several side projects this weekend. When all keeps coming like it did this weekend... Sundays are the best if you know what I mean.
Sd.Kfz.251/7 Ausführung C is going ok. Photos will come later this week before I close the 2 halves. The trailer with Zündapp. I really like the Vulcan Models.
Good price & quality.More bikes coming to my doorstep, before it is too late.
Some pictures...

Front of the bike I had to break down 3 in parts, for easy painting and assembly later.

You can see right hand part is still missing.

When building the next Zündapp K800 and the K500 I will get it into a short build blog. Just to show the beauty of German Design. So much better than the BMW.
More to come later, with the Sd.Kfz.251/7 Ausführung C before I button it up.

Well, Robert-simply awesome!!!

Love the heavy-loaded trailer and all the goodies it carries.
Look forward to the next batch of pictures,

Sorry all, I see now that's its December. I think I can try and build a Stryker in time. Hopefully with the holidays I can give it the quality it deserves.

geez, just did a parts count on the Stryker M1132 I wanted to build. Opened the box and then looked it up, 923 parts. I dont think I can knock it out in time. Sorry, I'll bow back out.

Thanks Robert!

Apparently Goliaths in Poland are infamous for destruction of many buildings during the Warsaw Uprising, including the Warsaw Cathedral of St. John.

Goliaths in action in the Polish movie "Kanał" ("The Sewer") about the Warsaw Uprising:

(I'm not sure how accurate the movie is, though - at the beginning of the scene there is a tank that looks like a Maus!)

T34/85 dressed up with fibreboard or plywood facing backwards:

The Goliath is moving way too slow as real wartime footage shows.

Seems the actor forgot rule #1 in partisan fighting - 'duck now, gloat later'...

I hope I'll be able to finish the build till year's end...
