Greetings all
This morning I was looking at my stash and in particular at how many items I have started then moved on to something else. You know the old eye candy thing, something brighter, bigger, more up to date kind of subject. Or of course the more detailed version has been leased.

An example is that I had this old Tamiya M3 Grant, then Takom come out with one. I had an Eduard detail set so I had started a building. So I thought I would buy the old Verlinden CDL conversion set so away I go. Well blow me over with a feather, Takom then deliver not one but two CDL types. I still intend to finish my Tamiya come Verlinden version. So far I have resisted the temptation to purchase either of the Takom CDL kits. With much gnashing of teeth and chewing of lips I still keep my wallet firmly closed on the Takom M3 CDL items. Alas, not so for many other items from all and sundry.

There have been contests here for the queen of the shelf and long may they continue. My started items range from a crew figure for a tank put together to a tank or aircraft all but finished.
I always justify my modelling habits by - One day I will have lots finished at the same time. Yea right!

So my question simply is: How many kits/items have you started yet not completed?

My list of shame is 52 items including single figures, groups, vehicles, AFV's and dioramas.

If anyone can best me you are a better person than me Gunga Din.

Yes I know there are plenty out there who build and tackle one subject at a time and complete it before starting the next. I know there are folk out there who only get as far as building a cockpit of an aircraft then move on to the next.
Kudos to each and every one of you.

Bit of a mission to figure what forum to post this in. So if in the wrong forum, be gentle and moderators please move it to the correct forum.

Hey Rod

Wow, 52 is a lot!! I usually try not to get above 7, I get uncomfortable when there‘s too much unfinished business. And I like finishing things and starting something new. Though that means some projects were downgraded from dio to single vehicle because at some point I wanted to move on and thought I could do a dio later... which, with the exception of two 1/48 vehicles, never happened...

Cheers!

Stefan you're a saint! My kits tend to stall at the "ready to paint" stage, and I've got maybe 20 tanks waiting. Then there's maybe another half-dozen complex conversions that come out to play for a brief while before going back in a box to await further inspiration. And I don't count all those figure sets - they are a chop-shop for crew to decorate the tanks, so are never completely used up.

All I need is a big lottery win so I can have a big hobby room and the time to use it...

Howdy Y'all
This was a good question that got me thinking because I have lots of unbuilt kits to the point that I've almost (almost) stopped buying kits from the LHS.
My tally is 26 kits, not counting single figures or vignettes in the works. I wasn't going to start any new builds this year and just concentrate on unfinished builds. There were too many good campaigns to say "no" to, so I started more kits.
Good luck to everyone finishing some of their kits.
Take care,

I currently have 7 kits that I started and have not finished. This past year I knocked out 4 unfinished projects to reduce the sense of having hours wasted on work languishing in a box. Most of those 7 will eventually be finished. Some are waiting for a return of interest that waned do to household moves and commitments and others are waiting for inventive inspiration to strike to complete a delicate and complex project.

Good things come to those who wait, right?
