This was going to be my starting picture

but after I put the suspension together and turned to the wheels, I found I'd managed to lose the tyres. As a result, this goes back in its box until I either do a grand tidy-up and find them or bite the bullet and get some replacement wheels.

Here then is my new starting pic

Well done, Tamas! Impressive work! Would it be Hungarian?
Good luck!
Kalin

Hi Kalin,

No, the H.D.F. never had this version but many other older ones. Actually I have built a Hungarian T-72M model last year using (a still) existing vehicle as reference from a combined Tamiya (turret) - Trumpeter (hull) and Eduard PE set and it is quite realistic, but this one gonna be a Russian tank.
Painting scheme is not yet decided but as it is quite similar look like the T-90A (I have a Meng kit in the stash), I will probably paint in single colour, whereas the T-90A gonna receive three-colour camo.

Hi BogiBG.
Like the subject you've chosen. Found some great photos this morning on Missing-Lynx.
A little inspiration for your build...

Have a nice weekend all.

Kind regards,

Robert Jan

Thanks Robert. As I see that is 21cm barrel but the rest is the same. How are you progressing with your s.F.H.18?

Hi,

A good progress recently on my Trumpeter T-72B Mod 1990. Could build up the fenders and many tiny parts on the hull front and back. The zip boxes are being prepared to be glued onto the turret this week, than detail up.
It seems to be 75% finished now but still a lot to do on the model. Very detailed kit from Trumpter, but I also added many PE and resing parts from the ET Model AM set (for example the meshes over the engine department and the resin smoke granade launchers). Lovely AM set from ETM!

More to come later.

Tamas

Ok so i'm late to the party with an overly ambitious plan that probably wont get completed in time lol. so let battle commence with trumpeter's ISU 152K

so here are my opening shots of the box being opened on saturday along with the saturday newspaper along with my early construction phase, namely building the road wheels.

Finished.
I spent five days in cleaning, gluing and preparing for painting. Lot of time, considering that I am on vacation, spending much time on the workbench.

I used this photos as a guide

I decided not to paint it but to sand it, finish I am playing for a while now.
So, finished model

Good luck to everybody with ongoing builds.

I could spend some time at my bench and had a little progress on the hull of the Trumpeter 1/35 scale T-72B Mod 1990 kit.

Lots of a/m parts added from the ET Models set, the details look very promising now. I tried to use such exhaust cover in the past w/o good result, but now I like what I see.

Still a lot to do, but as busy I am at work it will happen probably in August.

Tamás, nice progress on your T-72. I built the T-72B Mod.1985 (the one without any ERA) a couple of years ago, and boy, do I remember all those PE discs for the anti-radiation cladding. That’s some great PE work in general you‘re doing.

Bogi, you’ve really nailed the look of the 17cm artillery piece in your reference photos - brilliant!

As for me, I‘ve put the basecoat on my HIMARS, but it‘ll stay at this stage until September/October, once I’ve finished my build for the Stalingrad campaign. Detail painting is next, then I‘ll put it together and weather it, etc. In the second and third photos, I‘ve just loosely fit the sub-assemblies together without glue to give a general impression of what it‘ll look like:

Have fun,

Jerry

Well done David!
Do you intend to add an engine?

Your HIMARS is looking realy good, Jerry!

Tamas and Bogi- I'm still amazed by the quality of your builds, gentlemen!

Because of my BLG-60M-2 AVLB scratch-bash-conversion build for "Once More Unto the Breach" Campaign, I have been idling on my KV-1 build for almost 2 months.
Yet time is running out, so I did some final touches this evening and declare herewith my KV-1 finished:

This Saturday, it will go to my brother-in-law as a jubilee present for his 50th anniversary,

Well Angel, if I am at your place I would apologize to him and offer some excuse... And keep model for myself.
Excellent build.

I have managed to get a miniart t34 engine and transmission set as well as the t54 engine as well but I'm not sure if I will have time to complete them. it's a real shame there isn't an engine set for this kit as alot of the panels open up although the engine access door on the rear of the upper hull is molded on which is a shame.

I see, David!

Thanks Bogi!
I made a promise to myself to build the KV-1 for him and I'll hold it.
Besides- he'll be happy with the KV (he already has a T-34/76 and a T-14 Armata built by me).
But if some day I decide to scratchbuild the Soviet 57 mm. AA Gun S-60 (he served on one of these guns as a loader), I'll definitely keep it for my collection

Thanks Ken!
Missing fenders are the only way to build 2 KV kits with only 1 PE Fender set
