The Rodney is sidelined for a while while I wait for an item to arrive so I thought I would start another model while I wait.. I ended up starting three and this is the bench at the moment..

Anyone car to take a guess at the identities of the three?

Hi Warren!

she's looking really good now. I always wondered what those lockers behind the break waters were for-now I see: paravanes!

I can't help but wonder though, if the anchor chain is under-scale???

If you want to buy me one Russell I would be very happy...

Warren,

That is a lot of deck pieces to place, very nice work. I bet you are ready to move to a new task.

Mark

Thanks Mark.

I just realised it is not totally finished as there is structure to put on the rear of the ship but I am waiting until I attach the first and second levels of the superstructure before I do that.

Cheers

Warren,

the deck's looking really busy, very nice work and getting there!

Cheers,
Jan

Thanks Jan.

I have decided to put most of the detail on the first level of the superstruature before I glue it on the hull as it is a great fit even with the wooden deck on there.

But first up it is the waterways and barriers. Railings come last as always with me.. except for the sticky-uppy things of course...

Looking good Warren

Thanks Russel.

No piccies tonight but I have now completed 99% of the main deck fittings, jsut the sticky-uppy things to go.

I actually installed the first waterway this afternoon and am amazed at the level of detail Pontos have got into this set. Then after the waterways there are barriers then railings. Mostly you just get railings....

Cheers

Hmmmm.. I looked at my Nelson kit and I may be able to get a G2 from that one. I did scratch build one last night though...

Thanks Mark.

This set is one of the best fitting ones I have used. Not much trimming to do and with a mist of water down first makes it easy to move into place. Nice strong adhesive as well.

On another note, anyone know what colour the waterways etc were on the camoed Rodney?

Cheers

Warren,

Nice work on the placement of the wood decking, looks like it sat down nice and even. All those vents and equipment for the decks sure does make them seem cluttered now.

Nice progress

And so continues the installation of wooden decking and deck fittings..

I am sure these things are copulating in the night. One problem though, it appears Trumpeter haven't given me enough G2 vents...

Warren,

splendid work as always, looks great!

- how much I wish for a Rodney/Nelson in 1/350, the 1/200 simply exceeds the capabilities of my shipyard...

Chees,
Jan

Freetime Hobbies says they are taking pre-orders for 1/350 ships but when I click on the link it lonely takes me to review page. I would love to have one or both in my stash.

Mark

Seconded!

I think Trumpeter has them on the slipway at the moment.

Been in the catalogue for years, but when??? Not, that I'm in a rush for it

As Mark says - and those paravanes look pretty detailed to me, even without those parts you left off...

Very nice work on those paravanes.

Thanks Mark.

I actually left off some of the detail as it was just too small..

I have also misplaced a number of the ammo boxes I folded up early in the build.. bugger..

Hello again.

Lots of deck fittings on-going, and as I found out much more included than on the Trumpeter original. For example..

.. four paravanes.

And I can't find part 940 anywhere in the set...
