I want to build this kit, in a diorama but not sure what it was used for, the kit MAZ-543 Crane KS-6571 from panzershop. Was it used by the Soviet military an civilian , to do what, I researched this vehicle with no real luck with what it was used for but it's a crane for both military and civilian purposes throw my research.

I would appreciate any information on what it was used by the military, or any ideas, for what I could do with it, in a diorama. It's an amazing kit. I appreciate any help in advance,

Thanks an happy modeling
William

The only images I can find show civilian cranes in civilian service. Brightly coloured crane on top of ex-military chassis.

That'd be a fantastic build to follow, William! Is there any hope for a WIP thread, please?

I will probably do a WIP when I decide of an idea of a diorama, I would like to do a military use of the crane somehow.

I'm gonna try an do more research or if anyone else, has seen this used in any military photos used in a military fashion.

Happy modeling

Check out pictures #245 through #269 in this thread. They all seem to be civilian applications, nevertheless I hope you'll find them useful for your project: https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/265109&page=4

Maybe a civilian owned and operated crane called in to assist with getting a military vehicle back upright and on the road again? The maximum lifting capacity is 40 tons so the assisted vehicle should weigh less than that, maybe around the 25 to 30 ton mark.
