Italeri has a "new" 2A4 kit, 6559.Looks like a rebox with new decals. Scalemates says it has new parts. Any clue as to what they are? Turkish version would make an interesting break from the NATO tri color scheme.

New parts = new decals and glueable rubber tracks.

The kit is just a reissue of the old Italeri Leo 2 kit. Save your money.

Ah. was thinking it was based on the Revell 2A4 3193, the way they and Italeri seem to swap things. Could the Revell kit be built as a Turkish track without having to take out a second mortgage for conversion kits?

Sure if you aren't too picky. The TC ring is probably still the old style.

Revell 03103 Leopard 2 A4/NL. Far better than Italeri and only 30 Euros. Sadly OOB for quite a while. And for decal set. I would try to contact Italeri aftersales dept.

3103 is braille scale. 3193 is the 1/35 version. (why can't the use 35*** or 72*** so one can tell the scale by the kit #?) It is the 2013 tooling. Was hoping the new Italeri offering was a rebox of the 2013 tooling seeing Revell and Italeri often seem to be twin sons of different mothers.

Revell does/did reboxes of Italeri and Zvezda. Not vice-versa.
