Nice builds going on!

And to show i have also made some progress:

In all honesty, the Maquette kit isn't the best kit around. The different shades of grey don't fit all that well. But then again, where's the challenge if it did The white stuff comes from Evergreen, and some from Revell filler.

The figures are from Douglas Lee by way of Def Model. They look great, Although i'm guessing Doug used a Dragon T-34 which i assume has some slightly different dimension. That would account for the fact i can't get the figures fitted in the same way he did on the back deck. But of course, that's what makes my T-34 unique. And all that....

The tracks are on their way. The kit tracks didn't fit well and when i decided to give them another chance i couldn't find them again. The replacement tracks from MasterClub look great. But after assembling a length of about 5 cm i gave up. The resin tracks aren't workable (for me at least), and glueing them in place with superglue didn't seem like a good idea. And since i couldn't find the original kit tracks to give them another try, i ordered another pair. This time from Kaizen. They are hard to come by, but i have a pair of Pz. III/IV Winterketten from them and love them. I'm hoping the T-34 track generate the same kind of loving feelings

Goof,

Your T-34 is looking mighty fine. I am most interested in how those Kaizen tracks work out for you. I have a set waiting for my first T-34 build.

MADD (modelers attention deficit disorder strikes again..and this one is a double.
Meng truck back in the box and I pulled out an old MaK Seapig kit, probably a WIP for 5+yrs.

and I got to here,

Then I went looking stencil decals and found these

and that Prowler caught my attention

now it's decaled and looks like this.

I stopped working on Dragons Panther F last summer. So I pulled out the kit and found which step I left off. I also inspected the turret and Hull and found some missing and broken parts. Time to get started.

Gary when I copy/pasted the link I ended with a thumbnail sized photo. If I touch the thumbnail it then takes me to a larger picture. What did I almost get right? I'm still learning the photo side of this.

You missed one step. If you copy the one labeled as "Linked Thumbnail", this is supposed to happen.

If you click the link button to the right of the "Linked Thumbnail", another set of code shows up. Click on the one labeled "HTML code" and use copy to get it to the clipboard and paste that in you thread. That is a direct link to the full size image.

I had the day off and worked on fixing the broken parts and finishing the kit to the point of putting primer on it. A shout out to oldbean(Jesse) and 11Bravo_c2(Ivan) for helping me with a few missing parts. I plan on priming tomorrow and start a modulated base coat of green. I was going to try a light and dark primer but read it wasn't effective if you were doing a multi color scheme. Time to read through my Mig painting guide.

I finished priming with Tamiya's fine primer. I used Life Color's olive green to paint the roadwheels and lower hull and their Dunklegeld to paint the turret and upper hull. I then drew and colored the camo pattern on paper. I plan to draw the pattern on with a pencil and brush a hard edge then spray in the field color. I might paint the small dots and make it an ambush pattern.

Here is where I need your opinion. I fought the Life color paint all day. I used new unopened bottles of paint. It was really thin and did not cover well. It spidered so I reduced the pressure. It spattered because of extra paint on the tip. The airbrush stopped painting on multiple occasions. I completely stripped the airbrush twice and windexed the airbrush, lacquer thinned the airbrush and ultrasoniced the airbrush. I have lost faith that I can finish the camo without screwing up the job. I have never had these problems with Tamiya. I really do like the Life Colors color choices but I'm not liking the paint at this point.

What paint should I finish with? The only paint I have available locally is Model Master enamels and acrylics at Hobby Lobby. I will probably order some paint online. From your experience, I need a paint that will be able to brush the hard line edge without brush marks and be able to nicely spray the field color.

I then drew the pattern from my diagrams onto the kit. I am now outlining the pattern with a brush. My hand isn't as steady as I like so I guess I am going to skip coffee before working on it again. When I finish the hard edge I will start spraying the field colors.

I have started on weathering of the Chompbot, and doing paint chipping is the first step. When I started the Chompbot before, I guess I decided to do it with clean paint, so I didn't do the hairspray chipping layer I have used successfully before. Which means I have to paint the chips by hand, with a fine brush.

I started by painting the chipped areas with a brighter yellow than the base coat. I then painted a dark grey inside all of those areas, leaving the brighter colour as athe order of the chipped area. I don't know if that shows up very well in the photos.

It's going to take me a looong time to do paint chipping on the whole model with this technique. I may opt for fewer but larger areas of peeling on other parts of the model - I'm not sure I want the whole thing to be as beat-up as what I've done so far on this piece.

Also, I plan to paint a lot of splatter and gore on the Chompbot later, as a result of its chomping on the evil sentient vegetables it's designed to fight. Hopefully this paint chipping will be worthwhile.

late to the show but I really need to clean up the desk of unfinished kits so going with the one that has sat there the longest, Tamiya's panzer ii ausf f/g is what I hope to finish.

Well, I need to join another campaign like a hole in the head, but...

Here's the Merkava Mk.1 I didn't finish for the Takom campaign:

And here's where I am today:

Let's see what I can do with it!
