Germany after 1945 had its military entirely disbanded except for a gendarmerie to help keep order. So what happened in France after Waterloo? Were they allowed to have any military, and if it were disbanded, how long before it was allowed to establish one again? I couldn't help but wonder after all the destruction Napoleon had done to Europe.

See also Edo. Detaille L'Armee Francaise: an illustrated history 1790-1885.

The army underwent the so called white terror with many imperial officers purged. Whereas in 1814 the army just removed Imperial insignia and adapted the white cockade in 1816 there was a near total overhaul of the military and the army would not recover for nearly a decade.
