Hi All,
I have two of these kits, the Firefly Ic and Vc super value kits. I want to build the Vc kit (comes with british paratroops), but I would like to know if I can use the DS Styrene tracks from the Ic kit instead of blowing my brains out trying to assemble the indie track links in the Vc kit. I also have a set of tracks from AFV club (AF35028) will these tracks work on a Vc?

I doubt the tracks from the Ic will fit the Vc, since the Sherman V had a longer hull and therefore required slightly longer tracks.

Do not believe that will work--unfortunately!

I feel your pain as I am just starting the assembly process for the right side of my Firefly Vc track

Labor intense and another example of a Chinese water torture

Ugh. hahaha I opened the box and looked at the indie track links and said to myself: I am not doing those! Looks like I'll do the Ic then so I can use the ds tracks, thanks for the heads up!

You should get a set of Modelkasten tracks with EECs for a Sherman. 9 parts per link with some 89 links per side

The AFV club track set is for the extended hull and should work. They're what I have to replace the Dragon individual link track.

And you know that if the DS band is too short you could fill it in with a short length of the Indy link track. It's not too painful in 5-6 link pieces as in the spare armor often fitted.

I Built the 1C ages ago and it came with DS tracks only, they were too long and I needed to remove a number of links to to get them to fit properly. Maybe build up the running gear on the VC and try the DS tracks they might be long enough.

That should work, I've test fitted it on a partially completed Dragon VC hull and it's a good fit.
