Would railroad coaches be part of this campaign? I have a few 1/87 Pullman kits that come with complete interiors.

Hello all,

Update on the Rye Field Models Tiger I which is my entry for this campaign...
It's a nice kit that goes together quite well. Just a few additions in terms of wiring and stuff like that, and some changes based on the info on Tiger1.Info

Given things a quick spray of undercoat to help identify any problems.
Turret first... still need to add electrical panel and fuse box, and some detail to the vision block holders:

Driver's compartment...really not much is visible through the hatch but I've added what I think would be noticeable by its absence... still need to add a bit of wiring.

The brace between the front and centre of the tank you may notice is cut... mistake on my part as the hull was a little warped, I thought I'd straightened it but it warped again and ben this part. Once all the other "horizontal" pieces are in place, there's enough strength between them to hold things in place but this part alone was a little weak and it bent a bit. I cut it to relieve some of the stress and will fix it before I fit the hull roof. This particular area will be completely invisible (thankfully...)

For the R/O compartment, I only added a bit of wiring and then altered the MG ammunition storage as per David Byrden's info..

I left two ammo sacks missing on the left (rear rack) as they'll be on the MG mount itself.

Any comments welcome.

Cheers

Sean

Hi John,

You mentioned adding to existing kits, so taking that as a tangent I'm proposing finishing up with this:

It looks a little odd because it's going to be this:

When is an interior NOT an interior? When the hull is cut off to turn it into an exterior! The story is a farmer bought a surplus M4A2 Sherman from the UK government in 1947, and turned it into the world's most nifty tractor! I started this conversion several years ago, using an Academy M36 for the hull tub and FDA assembly, and collected a resin engine. The bulkheads are Evergreen, and there's lots more detail to do!

Does this qualify?

Hello there

Here's what I'll be attempting (minus the engine bay).

Some tweaks required as per David Byrden's site but looking forward to it.

Cheers

I'm in! I've got half a dozen DML Sdkfz 251's to build and my favourite part of building them is the crew compartment. Not sure which version to build yet though.

And I'm joining with MiniArt's SU-85 in Polish markings from 1945:

This my first Miniart kit, and I'm positively surprised by the amount of plastic. Plan is to leave roof, possibly side etc off to show interior

Slowly progressing. So far, very nice kit to build, except maybe cleanup of the parts.

I'm finishing up MiniArt's T-60 for a review; I think that would be a good entry for this campaign.

A lot of interesting builds in this campaign. I have not decided what to build yet.
Maybe some sci-fi hover tank or APC.

More to follow later

Was going to do this for the Armored CARMax campaign, but shoehorned a Boxer into that, so my Dingo comes here

This is what i'll be building for this campaign
The Dragon LSSC, the Black Ops Models Engine Bay kit and several Bravo*6 figures in a small diorama with the LSSC being in maintenance/repair, docked at something resembling the Nha Be floating docks - inspired by the images from Brownwater-Navy.com.

What about adding an interior to an existing kit?

That's fine, no problem.

Seems I signed up for this one already at some point. Fortunately I have a few kits that should fit the bill, including an M10 TD, plus an Achilles, as well as an M4A1 with a pair of aftermarket interior sets.

No sense over-complicating things. I won't worry with trying to use something that has already been started or built. I'll do either the Academy M36 Jackson or the Academy M3 Stuart.

What about adding an interior to an existing kit?

What I am thinking about is converting a M113 to mount a LAV-25 turret. I'd add the basket and some interior bits. I'm not too worried about that one. I was planning on building it for myself.

Another idea is take a completed tank chassis and give it an open/semi-open fighting compartment. I've got an old Tamiya Duster or an old Dragon Pershing I was thinking about using.

And the last, a what-if command vehicle based on a partially completed M3 Bradley.

If not, it's not a big deal. I can find a kit to start from scratch on. At the moment, I'm on a what-if phase and kitbashing old completed kits seems to be my deal. I've got an Academy Stuart and Jackson in the stash as backups.

Im up for it. Probably have more open vehicles, or ones with interior, than ones without!
